REHAB for people with disabilities and their carers
REHAB extends over three exhibition halls (hall 2, hall 3 and dm-arena). The exhibition area is divided into marketplaces, each of which is dedicated to a specific theme. In addition, you will find special offers in the special areas in the halls:
- On the test track, you have the opportunity to try out the latest wheelchairs, handbikes and other cycling equipment directly on site.
- The inclusive sports complex shows a selection of different sports that you can experience live.
- Car test drives will take place in the outdoor area between dm-arema and Hall 3.

Hall 3, marked in gray in the diagram, focuses on Building & Living, Children & Youth Rehabilitation and Self-Help. And the dm-arena, marked in light blue, focuses on active rehabilitation, cars & transport, education & work and leisure & travel.
Free shuttle service
Our free shuttle service will take you from Karlsruhe Central Station directly to the main entrance of the Karlsruhe Trade Fair Centre and back again.

As a free service for your visit to the fair, you have the option of reserving a wheelchair. Further information can be found under service on location at barrier-free trade fair.
Carparks
- P1 is exclusively available as a parking area for people with walking disabilities or wheelchairs (max. entry height 2.10m).
- Furthermore, disabled parking spaces are available on P2 in the first two parking rows (max. entry height 2.10m).
- On P3 Peter Gross Bau Areal, on the tarred area opposite the east entrance, disabled parking spaces with floor markings are available (no height limit).
Trade-fair shuttle bus service
A complementary barrier-free shuttle bus service and other barrier-free shuttles operates between the central railway station and the trade fair for the duration of the event. Here you can find the timetable of the barrier-free shuttle bus on the KVV-website as well as in the document below.

Description of how to get from the station to the trade fair shuttles:
Leave the station building via the main entrance (in the direction of zoological garden), cross the tram tracks and you will find several shuttles on the right-hand side at the station forecourt, which will take you to Karlsruhe Trade Fair Centre free of charge. You can book a transfer support from the train to the trade fair shuttles by calling 0049 30 652 12 888.

Arriving by road
From the A5/A8 motorway (Autobahn):
Coming along the A8 from Stuttgart, drive south onto the A5, following signs for Basel. Leave the A5 at junction 48 for Karlsruhe-Süd and follow signs to "Messe“. The road name for satellite navigation systems is Leichtsandstraße (on some systems Leichtsandstrasse) in the Karlsruhe district of Rheinstetten.
From the A65 motorway (Autobahn):
The A65 merges with the B10. Leave the B10 at junction 8 and follow signs to "Messe“. The road name for satellite navigation systems is Leichtsandstraße (on some systems Leichtsandstrasse) in the Karlsruhe district of Rheinstetten
Parking situation for REHAB 2025
Parking lot P1 is only available for visitors with walking disabilities or with wheelchairs.
Please note that the maximum clearance height is 2.10m. P3 Peter Gross Bau Areal and the VIP/press parking lot are available for higher vehicles.
Parking lot P2 will only be used if required. The front rows there are also kept free for visitors with walking disabilities or wheelchairs. Here, too, the entrance is limited to a maximum height of 2.10m.
Visitors without a handicap can then use the rear rows of P2 (maximum clearance height 2.10m) and P3 Peter Gross Bau area opposite the east entrance.
The parking fee for all visitors is €7/day online or €8/day at the box office.
Arriving by bicycle
You can also reach the exhibition grounds easily and in an environmentally friendly way with KVV.nextbike - the public bike and e-bike rental system of the Karlsruher Verkehrsverbund (KVV). The rental station near the exhibition grounds is located at the tram stop Messe/ Leichtsandstraße (line S2).
This is how easy it is to use the KVV.nextbike: Select the bike at www.kvv-nextbike.de or at a rental station, scan it and off you go. Please note that the number of KVV.nextbikes available is limited. Cost of the KVV.nextbike rental bike at the basic rate:
- 1 € per 30 min (normal)
- 2 € per 30 min (e-bike)
The exhibition grounds are easily accessible via a well-developed and signposted network of cycle paths:
- Karlsruhe main station: 5.5 km
- Karlsruhe city centre: 6.3 km
- Ettlingen centre: 7 km

Bicycle breakdown service
With our bicycle breakdown service, we offer you a basic set of tools and aids for quickly solving a breakdown. Be it a punctured tyre, a defective inner tube, a jammed brake or simply too little air: help can be called up and equipment borrowed via the service hotline 0721 3720-5222.
Arriving by local public transport
Tickets for the FareZone 100 apply for travel to the Messe/Leichtsandstraße tram and bus stop when a trade fair is on.

Furthermore, barrier-free shuttles run from the station forecourt to the Karlsruhe Trade Fair Centre.

Arriving by rail
Karlsruhe is a hub for ICE, InterCity, EuroCity and InterRegio trains, and is located directly on the Hamburg-Frankfurt-Basel intercity line. The east-west line Karlsruhe-Stuttgart-Munich begins here too. And the high-speed TGV train takes you from Paris to Karlsruhe in just three hours.

Visa service for participants of REHAB
WHO NEEDS A VISA FOR GERMANY?
Residents of EU countries do not require a visa to enter the Federal Republic of Germany. Residents of all other nationalities are required to have a visa to enter Germany. The European Community has abolished visa requirements for visits of up to 90 days for some of these countries. You can find an up-to-date list of all countries that require a visa and those that do not on the website of the Federal Foreign Office.
VISA APPLICATION
To ensure that you receive your visa in due time before the trade fair/exhibition starts, we recommend you apply for your visa as early as possible. Applications can be made up to three months before you enter the country. General information about visa regulations is available on the website of the Federal Foreign Office. The specific visa regulations for entry to Germany and details of the documents you need to provide when applying for a visa can be found on the websites of the German missions abroad. Visa applications must generally be submitted in person to the German embassy or consulate responsible for your place of residence, together with all necessary documents. When applying for a visa, exhibitors are requested to submit an exhibitor admission document from the trade fair company; in this case, the visa can be issued free of charge.
As a rule, you will need the following documents for your visa application:
- Confirmed travel booking (flight, bus, train and hotel bookings)
- Proof of health insurance
- For exhibitors: additionally exhibitor pass, stand invoice
- For visitors: additionally entrance ticket
OFFICIAL INVITATION LETTER FROM THE EXHIBITION ORGANIZER
In a directive transmitted per e-mail in July 2013, the Federal Foreign Office informed the visa offices of German embassies and consulates worldwide that, as a matter of principle, an official invitation letter from the trade fair organizer is no longer required when applying for visas for trade fair visits in Germany. Please refer to this information when applying for your visa. In case the visa section responsible for issuing your visa should nonetheless request that an official invitation letter be presented, please send us your personal data in good time by e-mail using the INVITATION FORM. You can request letters of invitation at the earliest three months before the event begins.
Please also note the following instructions when applying for a letter of invitation:
- Your personal data is taken directly from the online form. No changes or corrections can be made by us.
- If your invitation letter contains incorrect data, you will have to fill in the online form again.
- The invitation letter will be sent to you by e-mail as a pdf document. Sending by fax is not possible.
- The processing time is up to 10 days and cannot be accelerated.
- Please check your spam folder before contacting us about undelivered invitations.
We ask for your understanding that we do not process individual requests for invitations.
Info booth
At the info counter in the action hall in the west entrance area (main entrance), we will be happy to help you personally with any questions you may have about the current event. You will also find an info point in the action hall with information on restaurants and hotels in the area as well as a preview of upcoming trade fairs.
Barrier-free trade fair
Carparks
P1 carpark is exclusively available as a parking area for people with walking disabilities or wheelchairs. Furthermore, parking spaces for people with disabilities are available on P2 in the first two parking rows.
Wheelchairs reservations
As a free service for your visit to the fair, you have the option of reserving a wheelchair. You can reserve a wheelchair early and subject to availability at besucherservice@messe-karlsruhe.de. For your stay at the fair, we offer manual wheelchairs you can pick up at the entrances to the exhibition grounds. In addition, we provide e-scooters with a hand-out in Hall 2.
Barrier-free toilets
There is also a “toilet for everyone” at the trade fair. This toilet is specially conceived for use by people with multiple handicaps. It is additionally equipped with a lifter and an emergency-call mechanism. This toilet is open during the regular opening hours of the current event on the trade fair’s campus. Additional barrier-free toilets are located in the exhibition halls during REHAB.
REHAB children's world
To give you the opportunity to get information and advice about the latest product innovations and services in a relaxed atmosphere, we offer childcare for your children (both with and without disabilities) during the regular opening hours of REHAB. The childcare will be provided by trained staff and registration is not required. To ensure professional care for all children, it will be limited to a maximum of 2 hours.
We look forward to making the stay at REHAB enjoyable for our little participants as well.
Cloakroom and digital lockers
The cloakrooms are located in the entrance areas. The fee for a clothing item is 2 euros, for a luggage item 3 euros. Lockers are available in the basement of the Events Hall using a 1 euro deposit coin. The basement is accessible by lift as well as by stairs. You will find digital lockers in the entrance area (main entrance) on the left-hand side.
12 of 24 LiveLockers are equipped with the possibility to charge batteries of mobile devices. After opening the LiveLocker, you will find
- a 220V/16A socket to connect your own power supply units, e.g. for charging laptops or bicycle batteries, and,
- a USB type A and a USB type C socket with a combined output of 18W.
You can reserve these in advance for your stay at live-locker.com.
There is a charge of 5 euros per day for their use.
WiFi/Internet
Free WLAN access
As a registered user, wireless Internet access is available for you free of charge throughout the entire campus during the trade fair.
Free WLAN on the trade fair’s campus
You will need a WLAN-capable device of your own with a Web browser function. Please note the following details:
- To use the free WLAN, you need a WLAN-capable device with the globally common WLAN Standard IEEE 802.11 n/ac.
- When there are large numbers of simultaneous users, reception is not guaranteed at every location on the campus.
- The bandwidth per device is maximally 8 Mbit/sec. However, depending on the momentary traffic in the hall, the bandwidth may be less than this maximum.
- One user /device can go online with a mobile device for maximally 4 hours.
Premium Wi-FI
If you need higher bandwidth, we recommend that you order our premium Wi-Fi for the highest online demands (without bandwidth restriction). A fee will be charged for this service. You may purchase it either online or in the Business Centre at Entrance West.
EC automats
Karlsruhe Trade Fair makes available for its visitors an EC automat directly on the fair’s campus. The automat is located in the Events Hall at the main entrance.
This automat dispenses cash without a fee for customers with accounts at Volksbank. This is also true for customers of savings banks in the city of Karlsruhe-Ettlingen, but not for customers of savings banks outside this district or customers of other banks.
Charging station for electric cars
Four charging stations for electric vehicles (type 2 plugs up to 22 kW) are available to visitors to Karlsruhe Trade Fair Centre in car park P1; charging costs €6. Please note: There is a charge for access to car park P1. The charging stations cannot be reserved.
Animals
Animals are not allowed on the fairground.
Exceptions are guide dogs, assistant dogs of people with disabilities and service dogs.

Programme-Highlights of REHAB 2025
Theme special "Mobile with prosthesis"
Together with the Bundesverband für Menschen mit Arm- oder Beinamputation e.V. (BMAB), "Mobile with prosthesis" will be launched as a new theme special that highlights the challenges and opportunities of an active life with a prosthesis. Together with Anpfiff ins Leben e.V. and specialised exhibitors, topics such as "Travelling with a prosthesis", "Mobile after amputation", "The fascination of the Paralympics" and "Promoting exercise for amputees" will be presented in the programme. Stars such as Paralympics winner Heinrich Popow and other well-known para-athletes will be on site. Prosthesis manufacturers and suppliers will be providing advice at the surrounding exhibition stands.
GUIDZTER.com masterclass
The online platform GUIDZTER.com presents exciting and interactive masterclasses with inspiring guides such as Tina Pesendorfer and Moritz Brückner. These practical sessions cover topics such as travelling with a wheelchair, accessible mobility in everyday life and being a parent with a disability. The guides will share personal experiences, give valuable tips and answer questions from the audience.

Inclusive sports complex
Sports for everyone! In the inclusive sports complex, visitors can try out various sports such as wheelchair rugby, powerchair hockey and Zumba for all. Experience live how inclusion works in sport and take part in the hands-on activities yourself. A highlight for sports enthusiasts and anyone who wants to get active.

The Inklusionsfit Talks focus on success stories and challenges relating to inclusion. MOBITIPP Trends & Talks
In these sessions, innovative products and solutions for greater mobility will be presented daily between 2 pm and 4 pm in Forum Hall 2. Experts and manufacturers will present new everyday aids, barrier-free technologies and exciting innovations. A special highlight: celebrity guests such as double Olympic champion Kristina Vogel, actor Samuel Koch and cartoonist Phil Hubbe will share their personal experiences and provide insights into their lives.
Stroke
Stroke is one of the most common causes of disability in Germany. In cooperation with the German Stroke Foundation and specialist journals such as "not" and "GesundheitsProfi", experts and those affected shed light on interdisciplinary care and current challenges in therapy.
Panel discussion CNI+IPV
Organised by the Competenz Netzwerk Außerklinische Intensivpflege e.V. (CNI) and the Intensivpflegeverband Deutschland e.V. (IPV), this panel discussion on 22 May at 12:30 pm in Forum Hall 2 will focus on the topic of "News from out-of-hospital intensive care - current challenges for care and the provision of aids". Experts and relatives will discuss new care concepts, the legal framework and the future of intensive care.
Child and adolescent rehabilitation with rehaKIND
rehaKIND e.V. invites speakers to give daily presentations focussing on child and adolescent rehabilitation in Forum Hall 3, topics include "Current topics on the personal budget and budget assistance" and "People with severe ICP in power wheelchairs - should this be possible?".
Self-help
Self-help organisations play a central role in providing healthcare and advice to those affected. At REHAB, the LAG Selbsthilfe Baden-Württemberg e.V. offers exciting lecture blocks on topics such as "The medical on-call service in Baden-Württemberg", "Patient participation" and "Young self-help organisations". Visitors can talk to experts, ask questions and find out about support services.
Stroke care in the medical supply trade with GP
The right care after a stroke is crucial for the quality of life of those affected. In Forum Hall 3, experts will show how medical supply retailers can help to ensure the best possible rehabilitation and provision of aids. The specialist magazine "GesundheitsProfi" will accompany the event with valuable information and examples of best practice.
