REHAB Karlsruhe: Platform for exchange and expertise

Forum programme with a focus on stroke, living with an arm or leg amputation, self-help

Karlsruhe, 13 February 2025 - REHAB Karlsruhe, one of the world's most important trade fairs for rehabilitation, therapy, care and inclusion, will open its doors again from 22 to 24 May 2025. Since 1980, it has been a fixed date in the calendar for professionals and people with disabilities every two years. It provides an opportunity to discuss inclusion and to discover and try out technical innovations that support self-determined living.

The preview of the forum programme shows the diversity and topicality of the topics taking place at the trade fair: From the challenges and opportunities of living with a prosthesis to demographically related topics such as diagnosis and rehabilitation after a stroke to encouraging impulses from self-help organisations. REHAB illustrates how technical innovations can promote participation and open up new opportunities for an inclusive future. Forum programme: New topics and proven audience favourites

With its high-quality range of exhibitors and exciting programme items in the two forums, the 23rd European Trade Fair for Rehabilitation, Therapy, Care and Inclusion is the place to get information, network and set new impulses for the industry. Together with the Federal Association for People with Arm or Leg Amputees (BMAB), ‘Mobile with Prosthesis’ will be launched as a new themed special. There will also be a focus on the topic of ‘Stroke’. It will be examined from both a specialist and a patient/family perspective and will be covered in the forum programme by the three players, Stiftung Deutsche Schlaganfall-Hilfe and the specialist journals not and Gesundheitsprofi.

The ‘Mobitipp Innovations Series’ format is being continued following the positive response at the last event. Selected exhibitors will present their product innovations in short presentations. The online platform Guidzter.com will also be represented again with many guides on a large interaction area and will provide a colourful programme with a mixture of entertainment, sport, lectures and hands-on activities.

Self-help & encouragement for equal participation

REHAB Karlsruhe offers private and professional visitors a valuable platform for professional dialogue and personal development. Renowned partner organisations such as LAG Selbsthilfe Baden-Württemberg e.V. use the trade fair to present their relevant topics to a wide audience. In the forum programme, for example, lecture blocks are planned on the topics of ‘State Action Plan’, ‘Patient Participation’ and ‘Young Self-Help’. In addition, the exhibition stands themselves are also important contact points for in-depth dialogue: This year, the joint stand of LAG Selbsthilfe Baden-Württemberg e.V. achieved record participation with 23 coexhibitors (as of February) - which also emphasises the importance of the trade fair for self-help groups and institutions.

For people with disabilities, the dialogue is a valuable opportunity to further educate themselves as ‘experts in their own cause’. At the same time, experts are increasingly recognising the importance of actively involving those affected in the dialogue and benefiting from their expertise. Annika Gehrmeyer, Team Leader Medicine & Health at Messe Karlsruhe, emphasises: ‘REHAB 2025 stands for diversity and encounters: Here, people who rely on assistive technology can test, compare and experience products and receive valuable tips directly from manufacturers and retailers. Numerous benefits that make a visit to the trade fair well worthwhile.’
